The years have not been kind to the noblest of Vendetta children, once the most sought out lady of the land and capable of being wed to the pure “Imperial Eagle” Lannister, Athena has dissolved into somewhat of a mad queen, or so legends say.  

Her dignity stomped on, her destiny stolen from her, and people speaking of her as if she’s cursed for her multiple failed wedding attempts and miscarriage, the topic of “Athena Vendetta” had become a taboo subject most dare not speak of. For speaking her name is said to invite misfortune, and especially for young children and pregnant women as it said that if her name is said in uninterrupted succession she will arrive to take the child away to replace her own. Similar to the legend of Bloody Mary and the mirror.

And just like the real Bloody Mary, Mary Tudor, she has a troubled relationship with family and the faiths.

Instead of taking after the Mikado/Japan legacy of her father, she takes after his time as the “Iconoclast” and seeks to eliminate her “angelic” siblings, religion and all. In fact, she wishes for the Vendetta name to die with her, ending the family line as she was not allowed to SPAWN any children of her own.

The name “Eerie Erelim” is both an acknowledgement and rejection of her family motif,  “Erelim” being a controversial disputed translation of her rightful place as Thrones/Ophanim(loosely meaning the chariot/wheels that carry God), as her way of saying the Vendettas have lost their throne and with her exclusion she will make her siblings descend into the hells below to “die” with her.
