Trevor: Is everything okay, ma’am?
A candle light dinner in the middle of the french restaurant, Lucien Bistro, located at the very heart of the Capital. Sophisticated. Elegant. Classy. It’s a perfect location to impress your date. A night's reservation alone is pricey, but you can’t simply put a price on your lovey dovey future spouse, can you? This is where our hero Travis took sweet Violet to dinner. She ordered Oysters Rockefeller, which she never had before, and meanwhile Travis got the Lamb Chops. The two have never really cared much for the lavish life. One just wanted to impress the girl despite being dirt poor, and the other just didn't want to seem uneducated or less-than acceptable to be in such a place.
Violet: I’m fine, I’m fine… So um, this place?
Trevor: Yep. As I was saying, I figured it would be a nice first date for us. Ain’t nothing like this in Texas, but I hear it’s pretty darn romantic.
Violet: I like it. It’s honestly not my normal scene but I think it’s good. It’s always good to be adventurous and try new things. I do apologize for delaying our date for so long.
Trevor: Hey, I know you’re a busy gal. I wasn’t gonna get you to spend time with me if I knew you weren’t ready.
Violet: It’s good to explore once in a while, but one big change on top of another is just too overwhelming, I don’t know how Lillie does it. I think you’ve heard about the merger. I knew Joe Smith was cruel, but I didn’t think he would be this horrible to just make an entire brand obsolete. If you mess with human-crabs making an honest living, you know it’s a good indication of how heartless you are. But I guess we’re better fighting this war together than separated. Still, it pisses me off so much that I feel like I have to reach out to the shadows and start planning something sinister. But I won’t do that until I absolutely need to. I’m sure you’ve dealt with a handful of changes in your life that were just nonsensical.
Trevor: Nothing right now, I’ve been stagnant and haven’t even given my career a second thought. But in the meantime, I’m caring for people’s homes which I do a good job with. Got your TV working last time, didn’t I?
Violet: Didn’t know you were into tech stuff. So have you just decided to drop the wrestling career since you get paid decently for this? I mean, a meal here looks like it costs A TON.
Trevor: Real talk, I can barely afford this. Just thought you could appreciate a guy with taste.
Violet: You’re stupid if you think that this is what I expect from my dates.
(Trevor and Violet share a laugh, and then it died down)
Trevor: Honestly, that whole “wrestling career” thing, it’s really just a phase. It was a passion at one point but sometimes ya gotta grow up and know the difference between make-believe and reality. People like me don’t get a chance under the spotlight unless we have insane talent and a lotta connections like you do. My mentor Buddy went back home to Texas. I stayed behind for some pipe dream that I’m slowly letting go of.
Violet: Would have looked forward to facing you.
Trevor: And I would have loved standing by you and little Lillie against the evil forces.
Violet: “Evil forces” is right. I hate that this is just a sick game to all of them. They don’t respect wrestling, or honor, or competition, they only want themselves to rule, while people like you and me eat shit and die. My mental health is fragile! I suffer enough! I can’t deal with this crap! Just because Sweet Melody has joined their side, they expect Crimson Bouquet to do the same thing. Oh, right, they’re not expecting it, they’re looking forward to us throwing the match so that they can have more in the frontline against the World’s Finest. They treat us like we are susceptible to orders but that really only works if we’re looking for power. But I don’t want power, and I don’t want to rule. All I want is a fair shot without being screwed over every five minutes. I want a true Campeonatos de Parejas reign with my best friend, and stop these bumbling idiots from bastardizing the meaning of Champion by being a clone to Claudia.
And my biggest gripe is not even that they’re doing this at all. It’s that they are so damn incompetent and unintimidating when they are separated from their groupie. I would sooner trust THE DEVIL HIMSELF for success in my career than Ghost Organization.
Violet notices that some casual diners from the tables around them look at her frighteningly. It dawned on her that mostly rich people who eat regularly in this restaurant are guests and VIPs of Joe Smith, and they likely have their ideals aligned with his and the rest of the Ghost Org. Hearing these words of hatred caused a few side eyes her way. Suddenly whispers and silent laughter started to buzz. Violet could hear a few more than the others.
“I would fire her if I owned Wrestleworld”
“The nerve of some people”
“I hear she’s legit crazy”
Violet: PLEASE. Say it louder. I’d love to hear what you have to say about me!
A few moments later, the wait staff at the restaurant approached the two.
Wait staff: Ms. Snow, we’d like to request that you leave the premises. Some guests are complaining about a disturbance.
Trevor: Okay, okay, we are leaving.
What a joke. The one who has been ridiculed and bullied is escorted out of the restaurant. Trevor and Violet walk down the street to get away. It’s a cold starry night. And it was mostly silence between them.
Violet: You must think I’m a complete lunatic now.
Trevor: Not quite. It’s better than staying silent.
Violet: Trevor, do me a favor and reignite your flame and passion for wrestling. You once told me to not walk away if no one’s asking you to leave. If you’re stuck in a job that you have no passion for, you’ll end up like those people who blindly follow the money’s path like zombies yearning for human flesh. Just because you have morals doesn’t make you weak. That’s just something that Neron Yago and Manuel Estrella will never in a million years understand because they expect that people will lean towards them just because they said so. Lillie and I will turn their castles into dust in a blink of an eye. We will stand over them like they’re nothing and spit on their faces so the world sees them like the incompetent cowards that they really care. Violent is the person who is most pissed about this, and it’s only a matter of time before she chokes the life out of them. And then Valerie will make sure the whole world sees our victory over our dictators as Vera climbs with Lillie to secure our win.
Violet sighs.
Violet: This is probably the worst date you’ve been on.
Trevor holds Violet’s hands.
Trevor: Not at all, Ma’am. You fascinate me, Violet Snow. You don’t really care what anyone thinks and I happen to think that the world needs more amazing people like you. I’ll think about starting wrestling back up. We’ll never know what the future holds after all if I don’t try.
Violet: Maybe you can take me to KFC or something.
Trevor: Nothing would make me happier.
And so they start to walk together, holding hands in the busy street of the Capital. Thank god they didn’t have to pay for their expensive meal... with each other, they found something more... priceless.
