A old rusted heavy iron gate swings back and forth with a shrieking sound that would put chills up your spine. Moving up a moss covered limestone path way, there sits the Pennhurst Asylum. The once great Asylum is now a broken down ghost of its former self. The doors and windows have been boarded up and some are broken from vandals and junkies breaking in looking for a place to stay warm and to get out of the cold harsh rain.
"Can you hear them? Listen to them, the children of the night, what music do they make."
-Creepy version of ring around the rosie begins to play with a violin-
"There are horrors beyond life’s edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man’s evil prying calls them just within our range."
Camera view enters the Asylum, you can see the rotted away floors and holes in the walls. A quick flash of a full figure monster of a man appears and disappears just as fast leaving yourself wonder if you really just saw that or was it a some kid of glitch tricking your eyes due to fear. Moving deeper into the asylum, we begin to see pictures hanging on the wall, hanging only by a thread. The pictures are of the staff and some of the patients. Scattered on the ground are newspapers, wet and torn but you can still make out a few headlines. "Pennhurst to be shutdown due to twisted malpractice" one of the headlines read. Deeper yet still into the asylum as again the same figure glitches in and out a few times.
A big hole in the auditorium lets in the rain as it pours into the vast emptiness of the building. Suddenly with a ghostly presence the broken spot lights turn on and shine down on the stage. The wind starts to pick up before the sound of thunder and the spark of lighting lights up the sky threw the hole. View pans around to the empty seats and then around to the stage before turning back seeing that all the seats are now filled with ghostly apparitions of an audience. Each one dressed as if they are from different times and different locations from around the world, each other their bodies detailing and showing off the horrendous way they died as if it was a who's who museum of death and sickness on display.
The audience begins to clap as the view spins around to see a little girl in a bright white gown with a hood covering her top half of her face. The little girl walks out center stage with a candle, unlit. She places it down and with a nervous innocent smile she pulls down the microphone and sways back and forth listening to the music as it plays.
"Well I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah...."
The rain, wind, thunder, and lighting all start to pick up as if a tornado was barrelling down upon the rundown, broke, rotten asylum. The rain begin to pour into through the whole like a waterfall.
"Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah"
Newspapers, chairs, and rotten wood not nailed down begin to fly around the room as the little girl continues to sing up a storm. The crowd sways from side to side, almost in tune with the swirling winds.
"Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah"
Just as sudden as the wind began to violently tear the old structure apart, almost in a instant the winds stopped howling, all the swirling objects stopped mid air and crash to the floor. The crowd looks around in a panic as if they feared for their after lives. The little girl stops signing and begins to laugh in a way that would send chills up your spine like if you were home lone and was to hear the sounds of a child giggling. The music starts to become distorted and playing slower than faster, rotating between the speeds.
"Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah"
The rain that had turned into a waterfall begins to flow backwards and up, back out threw the hole. The whole scene looks as if it is playing again just in rewind. Then suddenly as if the storm blew a fuse everything stops and the room is left into a eerie silent darkness. After a few moments, a single light flickers on and the little girl stands holding a match. She reaches down and picks up the candle from before and lights it. She slowly removes her hood to reveal her eyes have been sewn shut. She looks around at everyone and smiles, with the light glowing across all of her features. She laughs then looks down as a hand thrust threw her chest now covered in blood. The little girl looks down as if she can see the hand, then looks up as blood runs out of her mouth. She then begins to laugh again as blood goes everywhere. Finally she turns serious and brings the candle closer to her face.
"You aren't afraid of the dark, are you?"
Slowly from behind the little girl you can see the face of John Reaper appear.
The little girl smiles and blows blood out of her mouth and all over the candle, sending everyone to darkness.
