Style: Having been raised in Japan for the majority of his life, Ares became most associated with Puroresu/Strong Style, which involves wrestling a more legitimate way of fighting with fewer theatrics. Ares grew a fascination with Strong Style and used it to torment his opponents, even going as far as ending the career of a colleague that rendered him essentially blacklisted from the mainstream wrestling circuit in Japan. However, in a company more lenient towards a style like puroresu with its extreme roots, Ares continues to use it as his primary style, while also incorporating many highflying lucha libre maneuvers as well. However, since suffering various injury scares with his highflying risk taking, he's since dialed it back and focused more on puroresu and technical wrestling.
Appearance:
Theme:
Professional wrestling became the identity of the man known as Ares Vendetta from the day he was born. It consumed every aspect of his life as he looked up to and idolized his father, Robbie V. However, without Robbie around for the vast majority of his upbringing, Ares had only stories and video to show him what his legacy was; to see into the world of his father’s profession. But without Robbie around to guide him or help him find his own path to joining the industry, Ares quickly became a troubled young man that used professional wrestling not as an art or a competition, but as an outlet for his aggression. The more he learned in the ring, the more his mind thought of new ways to hurt his opponents and torture them when they were at his mercy. As the son of Robbie V, all of it came Ares to easy; perhaps too easy as the mixture of boredom with his overachieving in mastering it all along with his inherent aggressive behavior made him a dangerous and infamously sadistic competitor in the ring.
Religion too became just as much of a part of Ares Vendetta’s identity. The concept of religion fascinated Ares for years, and he sought out to place his faith in a God that would serve his purposes; one that rewarded doing harm to others for the sake of vengeance, and a sense of revenge had indeed filled Ares’ heart as he continued to follow his father’s career. Somewhere down the road, Robbie V suffered a tremendous defeat that caused him to disappear without a trace, which prompted Ares’ first and most notorious crusade under his newfound religion that taught vengefulness as he sought to get his pound of flesh on those who wronged his fallen father in the form of names Ares had tattooed upon his body. However, before long, Ares’ mindset began to crumble under new revelations, along with the crumbling of his faith. Ares eventually stripped away his faith and all of his associates to become a lone, wandering beast that wanted to harm anyone and everyone for his own selfish purposes. This road led him to nothing but defeat after devastating defeat.
“Born again” as some would call it, Ares has once again found his faith, and it has brought him on the path to Wrestleworld, where his estranged father and his father’s notoriously vile wife have dug into and made their own. Constant defeat and loss drove Ares Vendetta deep into an abyss that he could only pull himself out of with faith. But not just any faith, a twisted sense of it. One that gives him a sense of purpose in a wicked way to fit his proclivity for brutality. Ares once more believes in God, but not just any God; instead a God of his own interpretation. A God that has allowed those evil and those good to roam the earth as though life is nothing more than a story. Of course, every good story needs a villain. Every angel needs a devil. Ares has found purpose, and that is to entertain God as a villain unlike any other. His goals remain as selfish as ever, his sadistic tendencies have gone nowhere, but now he does it all under the guise of a faithful, Godly man. His arrival in Wrestleworld as a “Second Coming” is one of faux generosity in order to hurt more, especially Robbie V and Claudia Michaels and anyone else he sees fit. He has no one side; only attaching himself to someone for another selfish purpose like a parasite. He has no true honor nor loyalty; a wild card that will do only whatever he believes best works as a means to an end.
