Running with the Ronin

{The camera starts up and we are shown the lovely view of the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, one of the many lakes near Toronto, Ontario and it is along these cold and windy beaches of the lake do we find Reno Dumont running, the oldest active member of the Wrestleworld roster is working hard in preparation for his match at chapter twenty five, as he runs in a pair of black/gray runner's shorts and shoes with a blue and black vest on as well. After a short while, the former Rogue Horseman stops at a bench and takes a moment to catch his breath}

Reno:
You know, I get that people tend to mock me. Call me "dryer than turkey at Thanksgiving" and all of that shit. I get that, you see, my entire career I've done my best not to be flashy like a lot of my opponents because I wanted to be known as a solid worker rather than flash with no substance.

Have I lost my fair share of matches over the past few months, yes. Have not really done anything of note in the recent past as well, no. But by that same token I can also admit with complete honesty that I have busted my ass and tried to be there for my tag team partner and friend, rather than sprout the word of “he’s my friend” and then simply write him off because he’s trying harder to be taken seriously.
You see I understand Nobi, Teddy. I understand him a hell of a lot better than you ever will because as shown in your own promo, inter mixed with bashing me of course, that you’ve already written him off as a lost cause and that’s *exactly* why I understand Nobi much better than you ever will.

Because I’ve been written off the same way.

And I’m not talking about recently, I’m talking about in the past when I was just like Nobi. I was respectful and honest just like him, I was the fan’s favorite when I won my first world championship yes...but then I found that I had to evolve and I did, I made some hard choices that have cost me friends in the past, but do you know what? Those people that understood what I had been through and what I was going through are the ones that I’m still friends with to this day.

And that is a very hard lesson that I’m going to enjoy teaching you and that loud mouthed fucking partner of yours at War of the Worlds with Nobi as we take our titles from your unworthy waists and put them around ours.

But before that can happen..

{Reno stops talking and then shakes his head, chuckling rather ruefully as he does so}

You see after years of being in this sport, I get that sometimes the front office feels the need to truly test the waters leading up to a major pay per view and as such st chapter twenty five, Nobi and myself have to team with Layne Driver and Maverick against Stephanie Matsuda, Colt Montoya, and the Bear and Jag Connection.

Basically the four champions and their opponents for War of the Worlds.

{Reno stops and runs a hand over his bald head for a second, now chuckling bitterly at the irony of it all}

Reno:
While I know that Maverick is not the biggest fan of me and nor I of him for obvious reasons, but all of that bullshit aside you can be rest assured that when it comes down to crunch time the last thing on my mind will be if I can trust Maverick because he wants to win as badly as I do, and while I can’t respect his methods, I can at least respect him for his hunger.

Because it’s a hunger that Nobi and I share as well.

I’m not too sure about this Driver kid though, while I know and trust what Nobi and Maverick can do in that ring, I’m not sold on what Driver can do because all I’ve seen from him is all flash.

But sometimes flash too can win a match, I’ve seen that happen a lot in the past as well.

Colt Montoya, I ain’t got nothing against you kid and while I’ve heard that you’ve done some mighty stupid shit in your past...it’s just that, in your past because as of right now son, I’m your present and along with three other very bad men we’re here to introduce you to every which way and wrong. So if you’re planning on bringing you A game, then you might want to step things up a little bit and just bring all of your game because in the end, you’re going to be handed your own dead man’s hand.

Stephanie….

{Reno looks frustrated for a moment and shakes his head before pointing at the camera}

Reno:
I don’t hate the player but I hate the game and while it annoys me to no end that I wasn’t able to be the one to take that title off of Claudia, hey...more power to you and you know that I ain’t got nothing against you.

But the moment that match starts, the fact that you and I are stablemates...that will be set aside because I want to test just how bad and mad the “War Queen” really is. I want to see if your eleven years of experience in the kinds of violence that this sport has shown you can measure up to the kinds of violence that I’m bringing to the show.

The “War Queen” versus the “Ronin”, heh...a real battle of the kicks if there ever was one.

But hey, you want to know something really funny. I was talking to my old running buddy Devon Slayton the other day and he pointed out that this will be the first time that actual Jade Court style will throw down with Queen’s Road.

{Reno gives up a rather wicked smile}

Reno:
Two very different styles of strong style going toe to toe right here in Wrestleworld, given a proper stage...I think that this will be a very explosive meeting of styles because when everything is said and done, it’ll be one for the records…

But now that just leaves the two of you, doesn’t Bear and Jag Connection?

So Teddy, let’s go back to just before our last meeting at the last chapter. I showed you a little bit of respect in my promo before simply pointing out a couple of things, then you turned right around and showed me nothing but disrespect because I laid it out flat about you?

You got balls and I can respect that...but just because I’ve been a low run as of late is not a singular fucking reason to sell me short.

Tell me Teddy, have you lasted as long as I have in this fucking industry? Have you stood over hundreds of opponents with your hand held high?

Like me.

Or Nobi.

Or Maverick even?

Have you ever put every single thing in your career on the line for a title, knowing that just even the slightest fucking slip up could cost you more than everything that you’ve ever worked for in your entire career?!

No, you can’t because you cannot even put down one tenth the level of work ethic that I put in each and every time that I fucking lace up my boots. Sure, I haven’t done anything of note recently...but things change, Teddy. Things change and in this industry they can change pretty fucking quickly and at this chapter you’ll see for yourself that very thing.

You’ll see it at the pay per view as well, when you find yourself the former tag team champions.

But you know something, kid. You’re not the one that pisses me off the most. Yes, I hate the fact that you were so easily turned on Nobi just because he decided that he needed an edge.

No, my real fury is for you, Jaguar.

{Reno’s smile disappears as he looks hard into the camera}

Reno:
I get it, you’re a masked do gooder. You bang the drum an make a big fucking deal out of things that are wrong. I get that, been there and I have the shirts for sale on my website.

But for the love of fuck, stop beating the horse about how Nobi caused you to do something because that horse isn’t getting any more alive for you to beat it to death any further!

But in this chapter, I’m the one that’s going to be beating a dead animal...you, Jaguar. You want something to complain about, then how about I give you something real to complain about?

How about you complain about my foot on your throat for instance because I fully intend to be doing that each and every single chance that I get during the course of this match and there won’t be a damned thing that you can do about it because like always, you’ll be watching out for Nobi because he’s some kind of major villain.

What about Maverick and the Driver kid? Aren’t they worthy of being “great evils” too??

No, at chapter twenty three the only thing that I want coming out of your mouth hole is your screams of frustration when you realize that you’ll be the reason why the ref hands Nobi and I the tag titles soon, because of your no talent having ass.

{Reno stops and runs both of his hands over his head as he shakes his head for a moment or two before turning to look at the camera once more}

Reno:
Say what you want about me, call me dry and uninventive or what the fuck ever because in the end it really doesn’t fucking matter, because when it is all said and done at chapter twenty three...the Wild Cards will be the ones apart of the winning hand.
