Championship Win Having won the Dreamscape Match at Dreamworld, Emmanuelle used her Championship opportunity to throw the gauntlet down to Arata Asakura; challenging him in front of the world only moments after he successfully retained the Championship in the main event of By The Sword. Emmanuelle deemed herself the fresh new face of the Shogun Division along with her resume she had earned elsewhere, but Asakura showed no intimidation as he welcomed the new challenge before him. The two would exchange heated words with one another throughout the weeks leading up to War of the Worlds in which both would make it clear that more was on the line than merely the Shogun Championship. It became about simply who was better, who truly represents the Shogun Division, and about simple respect. Emmanuelle felt Asakura's time had passed while Asakura intended to silence and humble the cocky newcomer. The match itself ended up being just as heated as both competitors battled it out in an incredible bout for the fate of the Shogun Division. However, in the end, Asakura - having carried the Shogun Division since Wrestleworld's inception as a two-time Champion - would shockingly fall to Emmanuelle, perhaps beginning a new era of the Championship and Division itself.
Championship Defenses
February 14th, 2021: For the first time in Wrestleworld’s history, a Wrestleworld championship was defended in another promotion as Strong Style Wrestling hosted Emmanuelle’s first defense of the Shogun Championship against SSW’s own Sakuya Goto during night two of their Blood Moon event. Having been impressed with Sakuya during a failed title challenge during a previous SSW show, Emmy laid down the historical challenge and it was accepted by the younger Goto sibling. The Champion was breezing through the early stages of the match but the tide turned after she tweaked her knee on the outside. Sakuya pushed hard with the SSW crowd in the Nagoya Stadium behind her all the way, but Emmy showed just why she had recently started calling herself the Platinum Standard by countering a Final Crash attempt with a spine buster, the Palisades Bomber AND a special finisher, her Rodeo Driver, to score the pinfall and her first successful defense.
March 14th, 2021: It didn’t take long for Emmanuelle’s next challenger to come forward. After her success in Japan, Emmy found herself face to face with Rosanna Vendetta on Chapter 27. The match would end with some controversy as Rosanna’s brother Ares prevented Emmy from connecting with her Venice Avalanche finisher, allowing Rosanna to pick up a win in non-title competition and hand Emmanuelle her first pinfall loss ever in WrestleWorld. The Shogun Champion, irate with the result and the circumstances by which it came, challenged both siblings (collectively known as SPAWN), to a handicap match at the next chapter. Amazingly, Emmy was able to fend off both Vendettas for a time before Rosanna attacking her with the Shogun Championship belt triggered a disqualification and a beatdown. It would be Emmy’s challenger from SSW, Sakuya Goto, who would make the save. Seeing this unfold, The Shogun Architect, Jaydanne Pendragon, decreed that Rosanna would face Emmanuelle at Cero Miedo for the Shogun title with Sakuya and Ares free to be seconds for Emmy and Rosanna respectively. With Sakuya neutralizing Ares’s interference, Emmanuelle avenged her Chapter 27 loss to Rosanna in the Estadio Azteca, finally hitting her with the Venice Avalanche to score her second successful defense.
April 11th, 2021: Early on during Chapter 29, Kimberly Chase selected to challenge Colt Montoya for the European Championship after controversially defeating Cynthia Rose for the World Cup trophy at Cero Miedo. Just before this it was revealed that all the other reigning champions would defend their titles at Chapter 30 against opponents of their choosing. After defeating Arata Asakura, Christopher Sabertooth confronted Emmanuelle backstage and informed her that he was ready to challenge her and reminded the champion she hadn’t selected an opponent yet. Emmanuelle accepted and the two met at Chapter 30. With some timely aid from her entourage Emmy was able to survive the most significant challenge of her title reign to date, winning by referee stoppage/submission after making a bloodied Sabertooth pass out in her PTO hold to score her third defense.
Championship Loss June 6th, 2021 - Emmanuelle was defeated by Christopher Sabertooth at Week 3 of ARCADIA following an Avalanche Giga Drill Break.
