| Subject: BOUNTIES - Episode 1 Thu Sep 26, 2019 4:34 pm | |
| (Quick flashing imagery of jail cells, gallows, and old, worn “Wanted” posters are shown. The camera cuts to the site of someone creating a new Bounty sign; putting the final mark on it as they brand it onto the sign with a hot iron. The camera cuts to a shot of the sign as the theme for “Bounties” - a piano rendition of “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi - begins to play)(The camera pans away from the sign to the left to reveal a shot of the inside of Wrestleworld Studios where Jack Develin is shown posing with a smirk on his face, dressed in an expensive black suit. He raises an eyebrow as he stares into the camera)Jack Develin: Hello, hello, hello… I am your beloved Host, Jack “The Devil” Develin. Why “The Devil”? Because I’m the one who tells you the things you don’t wanna hear. And also because my last name sounds somewhat like “Devil”.(Jack walks around the Bounties studio as he continues)Jack Develin: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our first ever edition of Wrestleworld Bounties, where we rank the absolute best going in Wrestleworld and ONLY the best, because I have been given the full authority of choosing these competitors. Why me? Why was I even chosen to Host this show? Because Wrestleworld Director, Jaywalker, knows that nobody else has the testicular fortitude to give their raw, unfiltered opinion on just about anyone alive, and even those that are long dead. I built a career off of calling ‘em like I see ‘em, and this show is certainly no exception to that.(Jack stops walking as he turns towards the camera, presenting a blank Bounty template that appears on the screen behind him)Jack Develin: Now some of you may be wondering what exactly IS Bounties. Well I suppose it could be considered a lot of things. As I said before, it’s essentially a ranking of the best in all of Wrestleworld, and there’s various factors that goes into who makes it onto Bounties, and what their exact positioning is. Wins are obviously the biggest factor. You win, and you’re bound to end up on here as long as you can continue winning. Of course, there’s plenty more that goes into these rankings, but that’s the bare bones of it, and that’s really all you need to know, at least for this first edition anyway. Chapter 1 is in the books, and all we really have to go by to get us started off is simply who managed to pull off a win on the inaugural show and where those wins landed them. We thought long and hard about our opening spot at number 5, but I fully believe we made the correct choice…(Jack Develin turns around and looks up at the screen as it transitions into the door of a prison cell. The cell door opens up to reveal a Bounty poster as the camera zooms in)Jack Develin: Sabertooth here managed to wrangle himself a W at Chapter 1, teaming with Reno Dumont and Jessica Rose to successfully defeat the formidable opposing team of Crazy Violet, Draconis Balaur, and Stephanie Matsuda. He showed a great deal of athleticism and showcased exactly what he’s capable of as well. So why is he at the bottom of our ranking? Well I’m glad you asked. Although he may have aided in securing a win for his team, he failed to capture the pinfall victory for his respective team and his night came to a grinding halt as he spent it watching someone else hog all the glory. Happens to the best of us, but it’s a dog eat dog Wrestleworld, buddy. I personally recommend you keep your enemies close, and keep your tag team partners closer, if you get my drift. Trust no one and nothing if you intend to climb that metaphorical ladder. But hey, don’t get me wrong, being ranked number 5 in Bounties is far from a demerit. Not just anyone gets a Bounty, just ask Jessica Rose. She may have, in fact, won that very same tag team match, but a winner she’s NOT in my eyes. She spent the contest getting herself pummeled and only by a miracle did she end up not costing her team that match. Sabertooth, however, more than carried his fair share and came within a hair of winning it all.(The prison cell door closes as the screen shifts on to the next cell door, which slides open to reveal a Bounty poster as the camera zooms in) Jack Develin: Now THIS is a guy I could get behind. A cagey veteran that knows how to get business done, and then some! Right from the get-go, Reno Dumont showed off the years of experience and in-ring wisdom that gave him the advantage he needed to win. Quite a few people weren’t aware that any tag match in Wrestleworld is under the jurisdiction of the Campeonatos de Parejas, which matches are under Lucha Libre Rules. Now while, yes, there are obviously some big differences in Championship contests such as being 2 out of 3 Falls Matches, when it comes to ordinary tag team matches, tags are done in the style of Lucha Libre. Didn’t know that? Of course you didn’t! Apparently no one else did either except for ONE man, and that was Reno Dumont, who did a beautiful job of exploiting those very rules right off the bat to tag himself in by dragging Jessica Rose out of the match and entering the ring. That’s great and all, but where he REALLY shined was by exploiting those same rules to capture the victory for his team as he tossed Sabertooth to the outside, made himself the legal man, and cemented his spot right here at number 4 on Bounties. Masterful! Keep up the good work, Reno, I can’t wait to see more of that!(The prison cell door closes as the screen shifts on to the next cell door, which slides open to reveal a Bounty poster as the camera zooms in) Jack Develin: Gotta say, there’s a LOT to love about this guy. “Self-Made Man” is right, because Arata Asakura truly made himself into a star at Chapter 1 when he put on one HELL of a performance to open up the show in a winning effort against veteran Nobi. The way Arata carries himself and the picture-perfect execution of every maneuver he does will leave you wanting more, and he put that all on full display at Chapter 1. The guy’s got charisma, he’s got high wrestling IQ, he’s got the look - Hell, he’s got just about everything you could hope for in an upcoming star, and he showcased it at the expense of Nobi in a brilliant way. So why #3? Why not higher? Well as much as I enjoyed his work, and well, just about everything about him, he did make some errors that just rubbed me the wrong way. Now I enjoy disrespecting a guy as much as anyone - Hell, I LIVE for disrespecting people, but I also believe there’s a time and place for everything. This was not the time, nor was it the place, I’m afraid. Arata had a spotlight unlike any other: the first EVER match in all of Wrestleworld. Yet, he couldn’t find it in himself to stay focused. Instead he wanted to dig under the skin of Nobi and he spent far too much time trying to expose the unapologetic “White Knight”. Well that “White Knight” just about pierced your skull with a lance for that kind of toying around, and Arata’s lucky it didn’t cost him the entire match. Nobi landed some big time moves and came just shy of pulling off a win. Arata is WELL deserving of being on this list, but you’re gonna need to keep your head in the game and avoid those type of mistakes in the future if you hope to stay on or climb any higher, my friend.(The prison cell door closes as the screen shifts on to the next cell door, which slides open to reveal a Bounty poster as the camera zooms in) Jack Develin: Hate him. Hate him, hate him, hate him. The kid looks like exactly THAT: a kid! What business does someone like this have being in a place like this? Is he even allowed in here? Does he have a legal guardian or at least an adult present, or did he just sneak in? If ya ask me, he’s as bland as they come and I simply can’t stand guys like that. However… Unfortunately my journalistic integrity prevented me from ensuring he comes nowhere near this list. See, I’m an impartial judge. I don’t know where Harry Sterling is, but he better thank his lucky stars that it’s Jack Develin conducting this show and not some other schmuck who would let their gut decide the rankings for them and permanently BAN him from ever coming near these rankings! Instead, I did the honorable thing and everything into account. Like it or not, the guy won a big time match up against a much more entertaining opponent. He had an uphill battle unlike any other to me. The bout between Harry Sterling and Chloe Leuthard in Wrestleworld’s first ever main event contest was easily the best of the night. Leuthard put up one Hell of an effort, but Sterling pulled it off in the end, so I gotta give credit where credit is due. The fact that it was the main event definitely helps out with his ranking there. I’m certainly not a fan, but he pulled off an emphatic victory. Just a shame he intends to die young and remove himself from the next Bounties ranking when he calls out Babyka at Chapter 2, but until then at least, he’s sitting at his rightful spot.(The prison cell door closes as the screen shifts on to the next cell door, which slides open to reveal a Bounty poster as the camera zooms in)(The camera cuts to Jack Develin standing by a real poster showing Tristan Killebrew as Wrestleworld’s Most Wanted)Jack Develin: Ladies and germs, I present to you your first ever Most Wanted Bounty: our very own Tristan Killebrew! Tristan, Tristan Tristan… Let me tell you this, guy, if you had shown a little more… Ya know, determination, this decision would have been one of the easiest I’ve ever had to make. I mean, I tell ya, I wouldn’t have even had to look over all of the potential competitors that could be listed at number one if you took that steel chair and beat the absolute hell out of your opponents. Hell, you even had the opportunity to utilize some steel steps, and what’d you do? You hesitated. How’d that work out for you? Not so well, huh? Well let’s just hope you learned your lesson. What exactly IS that lesson? It’s a jungle out there, and either you’re a predator or you’re the prey. No amount of any kinda bullshit good guy act is gonna stop the other guy from beating you within an inch of your life. I was FURIOUS sitting back trying to enjoy a triple threat match and seeing you make mistakes like that, and I can tell you who else wasn’t pleased, which I’m sure you know very well, and that is the American Dream Architect, Claudia Michaels. You know for a fact she didn’t want to see someone out there trying to play hero. Make the play and move on - do what you gotta do to win. But nonetheless, here you stand as THE guy. You proved to be the best of the rest, even if it was extremely close. So why you? Why not one of the other four? Well for anyone watching Chapter 1, Tristan Killebrew defeated Scott Smith and Kanaida Sharpe in a pretty damn close triple threat match. You did things I didn’t like and you didn’t exactly dominate, but what you DID do is win the damn match, and that’s all you really need in the end, ain’t it? And not only did you win the match, but you pulled it off over not one, but TWO good opponents. If you ask me, that makes you the man to beat if you can pull off a W under those kind of circumstances, especially while you avoided weapons like the plague. Not to mention Tristan put on one hell of a display of athleticism all throughout the contest that I was more interested in than his nearly fatal mistakes. When it all comes down to it, he won the match and that’s that. Tristan Killebrew has as bright of a future as just about anyone, and as far as I’m concerned, he proved that he’s worthy of being Wrestleworld’s Most Wanted.(The camera cuts to Jack Develin once again posing as the screens behind him display all five Bounties)Jack Develin: And there you have it! This week’s Bounties have been delivered to you, courtesy of Jack Develin. Now what does this mean? What value do these Bounties have to you or the people on them? These Bounties tell us who the absolute BEST going right now is. Architects aren’t eligible for these. Wrestlers, or “Clients” as we like to call them, are the only ones who can help themselves and prove that they belong on this list. All it comes down to is what you bring to the table each week. If you’re winning matches and then you stall out to do something else, you better be damn sure whatever you’re doing is enough to keep you in your spot on Bounties. Oh, and more importantly, if you happen to have a Bounty and someone defeats you in a match, well, don’t be surprised if you find them sitting in your spot when you see me here again. Reno Dumont and Christopher Sabertooth are in a very special spot for instance. Both men made their way onto Bounties, and now here they are up against each other in the main event of Chapter 2. Whoever wins and whoever loses will be very crucial to say the least, and you know I’ll be watching. Until then, this has been Wrestleworld Bounties, I’m your Host, Jack Develin, and I’ll see you all very soon.(Jack Develin smirks and walks away as the camera zooms in closer to all five Bounties as the Bounties theme plays before fading to black)(Wrestleworld Logo Buzzes) | |
